Bahá’í Administration: Selected Messages 1922-1932. Letters guiding the development of National and Local Spiritual Assemblies and their agencies during the early years of the Formative Age. Introduction by Horace Holley. First published in 1928. 1995; 209 pp.

The Dispensation of Bahá’u’lláh. Clarifies the station and mission of the Báb, Bahá’u’lláh, and `Abdu’l-Bahá and the principal elements of the Administrative Order. One of the letters included in The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh. First published in 1934. .

The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh. Seven communications known as the “World Order letters’ which define the relationship of the Bahá’í Faith to the process of social evolution in the new age, including essays on `The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh’, `The Goal of a New World Order’, `The Golden Age of the Cause of Bahá’u’lláh, `America and the Most Great Peace’, `The Dispensation of Bahá’u’lláh’, and`The Unfoldment of World Civilization’. Introduction by Horace Holley. First published as a collection in 1938. Current edition, 1991; 234 pp includes index.

The Advent of Divine Justice. Stresses spiritual, intellectual and social qualifications for Bahá’í life and service, with special guidance on teaching. Originally addressed to the Bahá’í community of North America shortly after the launching of the First Seven Year Plan in 1937. Final chapter on destiny of America. First published in 1939. Index. 104 pp.

The Promised Day is Come. Commentary on Bahá’u’lláh’s Tablets to world’s rulers and religious leaders and His general Proclamation to all mankind; analysis of present worldwide moral and social chaos. Written in the early years of World War II but with application for today. Shoghi Effendi shows how the rejection of the principles and spirit of the Bahá’í Faith has led to the religious, political, and moral turmoil now engulfing the world. First published 1941. New 219 pp US edition 1994.

God Passes By. The first 100 years of the Bahá’í Dispensation, 1844-1944, covering the mission and martyrdom of the Báb and the fate of His heroic followers, the exiles and imprisonment of Bahá’u’lláh as the background of His Revelation, the role of `Abdu’l-Bahá as Center of the Covenant, His Western journeys, and the rise of the Bahá’í world community. First published in 1944 with an introduction by the Hand of the Cause George Townshend. 436 pp.

This Decisive Hour
Messages from Shoghi Effendi to the North American Bahá’ís, 1932-1946. Originally published under the title Messages to America in 1947, This Decisive Hour is an expanded collection of major cables and letters from Shoghi Effendi to the North American Bahá’í community from 1932 to 1946, one of the most tumultuous periods in world history. These communications represent far more than chapters in a historical record to be closed and aid away. They remain an enduring source of guidance, inspiration and training for Bahá’ís and bear witness to the Bahá’í Faith’s power to build a new spiritual order on the wreckage of the past. Citadel of Faith: Messages to America 1947-1957. Study of this book helps us understand the development of the Faith in the United States in relation to the American government (see pp. 3238). Includes messages on`The Challenging Requirements of the Present Hour’, `A Turning Point in American Bahá’í History”, & `American Bahá’ís in Time of World Peril’. Note also on pg. 117 this passage concerning the movement of pioneers: “This flow [of pioneer reinforcements], moreover, will witness the entry by troops of peoples of divers nations and races into the Bahá’í world...[which] will suddenly revolutionize the fortunes of the Faith, derange the equilibrium of the world, and reinforce a thousand fold the numerical strength as well as the material power and the spiritual authority of the Faith of Bahá’u’lláh.” First published in 1965. Messages to the Bahá’í World: 1950-1957. Marks the beginning of messages addressed `to the Bahá’ís of the world’, indicating status as a world community; inauguration of the International Bahá’í Council and the institution of the Hands of the Cause of God; launching of the Ten Year World Crusade; and Shoghi Effendi’s last letter to the world community of Bahá’ís in 1957.
